Sahumitos are small, hand-tied smudge bundles that you light and then put out, leaving them to smoulder and release fragrant smoke. This variant is wrapped in rue.
The bundle and rue
The inner core is made of cedar, laurel and eucalyptus, while the outer layer is rue. Rue gives an earthy, slightly pungent, green smoke. Tradition ties rue to refreshing, protection and dispelling a heavy, stagnant mood, which is why it is a favourite plant for resetting a space.

How to use
Light the end of the bundle, let it catch flame, then blow it out so it begins to smoulder. Carry the smoke around the space over a heatproof bowl or shell. Use in a ventilated area and never leave it unattended.
