What Sahumitos is and where it comes from
Sahumitos are small bundles of dried herbs that, once lit, smoulder slowly and release fragrant smoke. In Argentina they are made entirely by hand by the Sagrada Madre artisans: herbs, flowers and resin are held together with a plant-based binder. The name Sagrada Madre means "Holy Mother" – Pancha Mama – and the workshop's work is built on respect for the resources of Mother Earth.
What you get in this 5-piece set
You receive a set of 5 Sahumitos bundles, each carrying its own fragrance. The inner core is the same for all of them: cedar, laurel and eucalyptus. The outer layer differs for each bundle:
- Calendula – for an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity
- White sage – for cleansing and renewal
- Rose – the scent of love
- Lemongrass and orange – a natural, refreshing note
- White Yagra – a symbol of success and abundance
How to use it
Place the bundle in a fireproof bowl or abalone shell with a little sand at the bottom. Light the tip of the bundle, let it catch fire for a moment, then gently blow it out. The smouldering bundle gives dense, fragrant smoke. One bundle burns for about 60 minutes, plenty for a quiet evening ritual or a small home cleansing.
How they are made
Sagrada Madre bundles are 100% natural, handcrafted products. Alongside the plant-based binder, the workshop uses scentless fruit biomass and charcoal as a combustion agent – materials that would otherwise be discarded. Environmental awareness is one of the foundations of Sagrada Madre's work.
Safety information
Never leave a burning bundle unattended. Keep it away from children, pets, curtains and draft. Always use it on a heat-resistant surface or in a fireproof bowl. The 5-piece box has a gross weight of 130 g and a size of approx. 10 cm. Country of origin: Argentina.
