Sagittarius Zodiac Trinket Dish and Incense Holder, Mango Wood, 10 cm

A flower-trimmed bow and arrow on a round 10 cm mango wood dish. Holds an incense stick or small souvenirs. A gift for a Sagittarius.

The dish is round, made of mango wood, 10 cm across and 2.5 cm high. Inside it has a glossy lacquer finish, with tiny gold dots on the dark blue rim. The white centre shows a gold bow trimmed with flowers and leaves, with the arrow pointing straight up. A small hole on the arrow shaft holds an incense stick. A ring of constellations decorates the edge. As it is wood, the grain varies slightly from piece to piece. Made in India; you receive one dish.

The sign of the centaur archer

Old pictures show Sagittarius as a centaur, half man and half horse, taking aim with a bow. On this dish only the bow and arrow appear. The sign runs roughly from 22 November to 21 December and ends at the winter solstice.

Sagittarians are said to be cheerful and freedom-loving. They enjoy travelling and learning, and they say what they think.

On December evenings

If you light incense on Advent evenings, push the stick into the hole and set the dish on a heat-proof surface, away from fir branches and paper decorations. Don't leave it burning unattended, and air the room afterwards. Incense is not included.

Without incense, it makes a good place for rings and earrings on a bedside table. A few coiled bead bracelets fit in it too.

A dish for travel souvenirs

Give it to a Sagittarius friend for their birthday, perhaps just as they are planning another trip. The dish can hold the little things they bring home, a shell, a coin or a pin badge. If a Capricorn in the family also has a December birthday, the same dish comes with their sign.
