The soft green hues of aventurine
You hold a set in which all seven shapes are carved from a single mineral, aventurine. Lighter and slightly darker patches of green play together on the surface, and here and there you may notice small glints of mica. This gentle, natural sparkle is one of the distinctive features of aventurine.
The five Platonic solids together
The five Platonic solids of sacred geometry – the tetrahedron, the cube, the octahedron, the dodecahedron and the icosahedron – are joined by a sphere and one further shape. The forms are regular and crisply finished, so when set side by side they form a calm geometric ensemble. You may examine the meeting of the faces piece by piece.
The role of colour in everyday rest
Green is the colour of awakening, growth and a fresh breath in nature. Many people welcome the aventurine pieces in spring and early summer, since the gaze rests gently on the soft green shades. On a tired afternoon you can quietly look at the stones on your desk or on the windowsill.
Placement and use
The set looks well in a meditation corner, on a small wooden tray, next to a book, or on the quieter part of a windowsill. You can arrange the pieces on a soft linen cloth, or place them in a low ceramic dish. During the quiet minutes of the morning, pick up one of the forms and observe its weight, its coolness and its surface.
Cleaning and storage
Aventurine is fairly hard, yet the corners and edges deserve care against falls. Wipe the pieces from time to time with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth, then let the surface dry fully. Keep the set in a soft fabric pouch so the pieces do not knock against one another when carried.
