Ruby Fuchsite Crystal Wand with Rose Quartz Ball, 23 cm

A 23 cm crystal wand of green ruby fuchsite with crimson spots, a clear crystal point and a polished rose quartz ball.

The body of this wand is green ruby fuchsite, with a silver-tone metal fitting at each end. One end holds a clear crystal point, the other a polished rose quartz ball. It is 23 cm long and handmade in India.

Green stone with crimson spots

Ruby fuchsite is two minerals grown together. The green base is fuchsite, a mica coloured green by chromium, and ruby crystals are embedded in it, forming the crimson and pink spots. Curiously, both colours come from the same element, chromium.

Fuchsite is named after the German chemist Johann Nepomuk von Fuchs. Ruby, for its part, is a sister of sapphire, as both are colour varieties of the mineral corundum.

The spots differ in size and position on every stone, so the pattern on your wand will differ from the photo.

Green and pink on one wand

The soft pink of the rose quartz ball echoes the spots in the fuchsite. Rose quartz is said to be the stone of love, and ruby fuchsite is linked with the heart.

At 23 cm the wand is comfortable to hold. If you meditate, rest the ball end in your palm. When not in use, it looks lovely lying on an altar or in a glass cabinet, and on a dark cloth the green and pink stand out even more.

Careful with the point

The crystal point and the ball can chip on a hard floor. Fuchsite is softer than quartz, so keep the wand away from keys and other hard objects. Wipe off dust with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemicals and scouring products, as the surface of fuchsite is delicate.
