Royalty F1 sweet corn is a long-time favourite from the Pannonkert range: a mid-season, vigorous hybrid that rewards home growers with normal-sweet flavour and thick, generous cobs. The plant grows strongly to around 200 cm, and the kernels develop evenly on the ear. A dependable choice that performs year after year in Hungarian climate conditions.
Sowing and care
Sowing time: from mid-April to the end of June; sow in two batches 1–2 weeks apart for a continuous harvest. Spacing: row 75 cm, plant 25 cm, sowing depth 1–2 cm. Optimal germination temperature is around 15 °C, so wait until the soil has warmed up before sowing.
Sweet corn needs full sun and rich, well-watered soil. Harvest when the kernels are plump and release a milky sap when pierced with a fingernail. The best flavour comes when corn is eaten within hours of picking — boiled, grilled or roasted, this is the true summer flavour of any home garden.
