Rose quartz, fact and tradition
Rose quartz is the pink variety of quartz, coloured by traces of titanium, iron or manganese; its hardness is around Mohs 7. It ranges from translucent to milky. In the crystal tradition it is known as the stone of love and the heart, a companion for gentleness and self-acceptance, all of which is tradition, not medical fact.
