Sound and character
The 45 cm sounds larger, warmer and clearly deeper than its smaller siblings. The bigger membrane moves a longer air wave — you can hear it and feel it in the room. Horsehide character shines here: a round, deep, almost body-touching fundamental in the centre, with a brighter and well-articulated percussive ring near the edges. The 7 cm frame produces serious sustain. Each drum is unique, since natural hide varies in pattern and thickness.
How to use
The 45 cm is especially suited to group settings: therapy groups, drum circles, community ceremonies, full-moon events, attunement before sound massage. Because the sound fills a room easily, it works well for leading — holding both rhythm and attention. Play it standing with a strap, seated on the lap, or on a stand. The leather mallet brings out the full ceremonial tone; hands allow finer rhythmic detail.

Care tips
- Store at stable, moderate humidity — sudden dryness or moisture changes skin tension.
- Warm the skin with your palm before playing for a fuller tone.
- Use both the rim area and the full membrane — they give clearly different colours.
- Never insert objects between the lacing — pinching hazard.
- For transport, use a matching padded bag.
