The 35 cm kit allows you to build a compact yet seriously voiced ritual drum. The 6.5 cm frame depth gives a good fundamental while keeping the instrument portable and easy to handle. The complete kit contains everything except the beater handle stick, which you find in nature yourself.
Sound and character
The 35 cm diameter produces a moderately deep, pleasing tone. Cowhide gives a warm, full fundamental joined by rich overtones. The 6.5 cm depth helps the voice stay soft and resonant rather than too sharp. The drum responds well to fine dynamic shifts and works beautifully in personal meditation practice as well.
How to use
Recommended for individual practice, smaller meditation groups, as a companion instrument in sound therapy sessions, and as a beginner’’s ritual drum. The 35 cm size still sits comfortably in one hand, so it is ideal for those who value freedom of movement while playing. It is also well suited to pedagogical work and is a size that children can handle.
Why this product
The 35 cm kit is the ideal middle path for anyone who finds the 30 cm too small and the 40 cm too large. It offers proper voice and a serious building experience while still performing well in portability. Feeltone materials guarantee durable, professional quality.
Care tips
- Before starting the build, prepare every tool and component.
- Soak the hide evenly so that the tensioning will be even too.
- You can finish the surface with natural beeswax or hard wax oil.
- Before playing, slowly run your palm across the head — this warms it and prepares the tone.
- For storage, an upright position or a drum stand is best.
