A small accessory that changes how your bowl sounds
This ring cushion is shaped specifically to support metal singing bowls. Instead of resting the full base of the bowl on a flat pad, the bowl sits on the inner rim of the ring, so the lower surface stays free to vibrate. The result is a longer, richer tone and a bowl that does not slide on the table.
Why the ring shape matters
A flat cushion absorbs some of the vibration travelling through the base of the bowl. The ring design contacts only a small part of the rim, which lets the walls of the bowl move more freely and keeps the sustain clean and long. The bowl also stays stable when struck — it will not tip or wobble.
Which bowls fit best
The 22 cm inner diameter is well matched to small and medium metal bowls, typically those between 15 and 25 cm across. It is a useful first cushion for anyone starting out with singing bowls, and an everyday tool for therapists who work with several bowls during a session.
Fabric and finish
The cushion is sewn from a hard-wearing polyester textile that is firm enough to hold its shape, yet soft enough to protect the surface beneath. The neutral colour fits into therapy rooms, yoga studios and home meditation corners without drawing attention from the bowl itself.
How to use and care
Place the cushion on a flat, stable surface, then lower the bowl so its base rests on the inner edge of the ring. Wipe with a dry cloth between uses; machine washing is not recommended. Made in Nepal, in the same regions where the singing-bowl tradition has been practised for centuries.
