A shaker you do not have to hold
The special thing about the Rim Shaker is that you do not shake it in your hand - you mount it on your instrument. Thanks to its Velcro attachment it can be fitted anywhere the playing surface and the resonance box meet at a 90 degree angle. The rim of a cajon is the most obvious spot, but it works on almost any instrument with a right-angled edge. While you play, the shaker sounds by itself with every stroke, adding a subtle rolling layer to your groove.
Flexible body, adjustable response
The base is made of grippy, flexible rubber, out of which grows the square plastic shaker tube. An adjustable rubber ring on the tube lets you control how sharply it responds when struck - from soft and quiet to crisp and pronounced. A fleece buffer at the end of the tube protects the striking surface.
Exciting for guitarists too
The manufacturer explicitly recommends it for adventurous guitarists: mounted on the body of an acoustic guitar it accompanies your strumming with a gentle shaker sound. It works equally well on stage and at home, since it can be attached and removed in one movement.
Dimensions and build
The Rim Shaker measures approximately 5.5 x 11.5 x 12.5 cm. It has a single-chamber design and is made in Germany from high-grade materials.
