Sound and character
The deep, floating overtone sound of a Feeltone monochord depends heavily on the quality and tuning of its strings. The original strings, calculated and manufactured specifically for these instruments, preserve the warm, blended fundamental tone you have come to know. Replacing them with non-original strings noticeably alters the sound spectrum and reduces the richness of the overtones.
How to use
A full set replacement is recommended when the instrument has been in use for a long time, or when several strings have lost their elasticity. The change should be carried out calmly, using the proper tools. Tighten each string gradually and tune it in stages so that the body of the instrument adjusts evenly to the new tension.

Care tips
- The bare ends are sharp metal and can pierce the skin.
- Watch for sudden snapping when unrolling the coiled string.
- Never overstretch the strings, as they may break.
- On loop-end strings, protruding wire from the winding can cause injury.
- Allow several days for the instrument to stabilise after a full restring.
