Sound and character
Strings tuned to c' sit in the middle register of the monochord and provide the sound layer that wraps audibly around the listener. The fine differences between strings of the same pitch produce the floating, wave-like effect that Feeltone instruments are known for. A worn string disturbs that sensitive system, so timely replacement is worthwhile.
How to use
Replace the string when its tone is dull, out of tune, or shows visible wear. Place the ball end on its anchor, then bring the string up to tension slowly and in stages. The new string will stretch for a few days, so retune more often during this period. Feeltone emphasises that only original strings preserve the instrument's sound picture.

Care tips
- The bare end can sharply pierce the skin; handle with care.
- The string end may snap out when uncoiled.
- Overstretching can break the string and cause injury.
- Help the new string settle by going through several tuning cycles.
- Gently retune the neighbouring strings after the change.
