Sound and character
The G bass string carries the deep, vibrating foundation around which the monochord overtones gather. The wound construction is responsible for the long, full-bodied resonance that listeners feel in the body as well as the ears. Replacing a tired bass string returns clarity and carrying power to the instrument.
How to use
Replace the string when it sounds dull, no longer holds pitch, or shows visible wear. Expect frequent retuning in the first days as the new string stretches into its final tension. Feeltone recommends always using their original strings, because only these preserve the calibrated voice of the instrument.

Care tips
- The bare end is sharp metal and can pierce the skin.
- Watch for the string end snapping out when uncoiling.
- Overstretching can break the string and the loose end may cause injury.
- The fresh string will need several tuning cycles to stabilise.
- Use the tuning key supplied with your instrument.
