Sound and character
This wound overtone string brings back the characteristic floating sound of f-tuned feeltone monochords. The brass winding gives a full, round fundamental while the overtones layer onto it with airy clarity. The f base pitch lends a brighter, more uplifting character to the instrument, fitting open, joyful meditative spaces and group sound baths very well.
How to use
Replace the string when its sound becomes dull or metallic, when the winding shows visible wear, or when the string has broken. feeltone designs and produces these strings specifically for its own instruments, so you should stick with the original replacement to preserve the sound. To change it, release the old string, remove it, thread in the new one and bring it slowly and evenly up to the f pitch.
Why this product
Because this string is matched in gauge, material and tension to the MO-21F and MO-34F models. If keeping the original voice of your instrument matters to you, you should use the factory string. Non-original parts will easily shift the overtone balance.
Care tips
- Tune gradually, never push past the target pitch.
- The bare ends are sharp and can hurt your fingers as you uncoil the string, handle them carefully.
- Retune frequently in the first days while the new string settles.
- Unopened sealed strings may be returned if the seal is intact.
