Sound and character
This wound overtone string restores the floating, richly layered sound that defines feeltone monochords. The brass winding produces a full, warm fundamental while the overtones rise cleanly above it. In D tuning the string offers a calm, grounding base that suits deep meditative and therapeutic soundscapes particularly well.
How to use
Replace the string when it sounds dull, looks visibly worn, or has broken. feeltone strings are calculated and produced specifically for these instruments, so to preserve the original sound image you should stay with the factory replacement. To change it, release the old string, remove it, then thread the new one in from the tuning peg side and bring it slowly and evenly up to the target D pitch.

Because this is the original, factory-matched string that fits the MO-21D and MO-34D monochords. If you want to keep the characteristic voice of your instrument, you should stay with this version, since third-party strings with different gauges and tensions will shift the fundamental.
Care tips
- Tune gradually and avoid overshooting the target pitch.
- Take care: the bare string ends are sharp and can pierce skin when you uncoil the ring.
- Retune more often during the first few days, until the new string settles.
