Sound and character
This wound bass string brings back the full, carrying fundamental of c-tuned feeltone monochords. The brass winding produces a warm, round tone that becomes a tangible body vibration close to the instrument. The c fundamental has an open, supporting character that pairs well with many other instruments, which makes it particularly well-loved in group sound work.
How to use
Replace the string when its sound has turned dull, metallic or buzzy, when the winding is visibly worn, or when the string has broken. feeltone designs these strings specifically for its own instruments, so to preserve the original sound you should stay with the factory replacement. Release the old one, remove it, thread in the new one and bring it slowly and evenly up to c.
Why this product
Because this is the original factory string matched to the MO-21C and MO-34C models. If you want the instrument to deliver the same deep, carrying voice it had when new, you should choose the original. A non-original part shifts the fundamental through a different gauge and tension.
Care tips
- Tune gradually toward the target pitch and avoid overshooting.
- The bare ends are sharp and can hurt you as you uncoil the string.
- Retune the new string several times until it settles.
- Unopened sealed packs may be returned.
