A larger space that asks for warmth — a living room, a child's room, a bedroom with a large surface running under the bed — and a rag rug at hand that fills the room with joy of life through its colourful stripes. The 150 × 200 cm Rainbow Rag Rug offers exactly this larger-format, vivid colour cavalcade: a piece of Indian craftsmanship that especially comes into its own in a spacious room.
The Rainbow colour combination
The rainbow theme is not only joyful but symbolic: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and purple shades appear together in diagonal stripes. This multicolour quality is a particularly perfect choice for a child's room, but it also creates a focal point in a modern white-walled living room and can rejuvenate a meditation space. Despite the brightness, the rug never looks crowded — the natural softness of hand weaving preserves the harmony.
India's hand-weaving tradition
The rug is made by Indian craftspeople on traditional looms, from recycled cotton offcuts. Every piece receives a slightly different colour combination — a natural feature of hand weaving. The sustainable use of materials (recycling textile by-products) is also part of the tradition: not new material, but consciously rethought textile becomes the rug.
Where to place it, how to use it
The 150 × 200 cm size is large — fitting well in front of or beneath a double bed, in front of a living-room sofa as a focal point, or as a play rug in a child's room. As it is woven from cotton, it is pleasant to step on barefoot. We do not recommend it outdoors in strong frost; indoors, lightly protected from direct sunlight, it preserves its vivid colours for a long time.
Care
Maintain the rug with regular vacuuming (low suction recommended); occasional outdoor shaking refreshes it. Machine washing is not recommended, as hand weaving prefers gentle care. For stains, use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then let the rug air-dry flat in a natural way.
