A small yet expressive Tibetan pendant with the figure of Shakyamuni Buddha – wearable on a cord, or hung, for example, on a car's rear-view mirror.
Shakyamuni Buddha
Shakyamuni Buddha is the historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, from whose teachings Buddhism unfolded. His figure represents enlightenment, inner peace and mindfulness. In the Tibetan tradition the pendant associated with him is worn as a symbol of protection.
Material and wear
Made of nickel-free metal, about 3 × 3 cm; it comes with an assorted-colour string. A light piece for everyday wear that also makes a thoughtful little gift.
Good to know
“Protection” is an idea of the Tibetan tradition attached to the pendant – a cultural meaning, not a medical effect.
