Sound and character
This instrument combines the deepest tuning in the Monolina range with the most intense wood pairing. The D tuning gives a full, long-sustained bass — and wenge with maple together create an especially deep, vibrating resonance. The body responds palpably to the sound, and during every play session more layers of overtones unfold.
How to use
The D-tuned Ebony & Ivory can be a true therapeutic tool for you:
- In deep body and emotional work where a sustained, grounding sound matters.
- For individual sound massage sessions where vibration acts as massage.
- For longer meditations where you sit beside the instrument and play for yourself too.
- In professional concert situations where the sound quality must be uncompromising.
Why this product
If you have been considering the premium Monolina versions and are seeking the deepest, richest sound, this combination is the summit. Wenge brings weight and density to the sound, while maple delivers clear overtones — together they create a particularly spatial sound in the D tuning. The representative appearance is an experience for both you and your clients.
Care tips
- Play slowly, patiently — it is worth waiting for the bass strings to fully decay.
- Use the santoor mallets to shape melody and the felt mallets for soft accompaniment.
- Because of the dense woods, the instrument responds sensitively to humidity changes — keep it in a stable environment.
- Once a year it is worth gently re-oiling the wood surface with hard wax oil.
