The tone of the Earth year, amplified
The 136.1 Hz tone is calculated from the time of the Earth's orbit around the Sun, and the Indian tradition also links it to the syllable Om. Thanks to the weights that mount on its prongs, this power version vibrates considerably more strongly and longer than regular tuning forks – you not only hear the vibration, you clearly feel it in your hand and on your body.
What makes a power tuning fork different?
While a regular tuning fork is mainly listened to, the power version can be placed – after striking – with its foot gently on the body, for example on the shoulder, back or arm, where the vibration transfers softly and pleasantly. This is why sound therapists and relaxation practitioners favour it: tone and vibration together help release tension and find inner calm.
Anodized aluminium, easy handling
The fork is made in Germany from anodized aluminium. It is 22 cm long and remains easy to handle even with the add-on weights mounted. Aluminium gives a softer, longer-sustained tone than steel forks.
How to use it day to day
Strike the fork against a soft rubber mallet or the pad of your palm, then listen to its tone or place its foot on your body. You can use it for evening wind-down or as a companion to meditation – with a few minutes of practice you will handle it confidently, even as a beginner.
