One stone in pale pink. The point of this pendulum is polished rose quartz in a silver-tone cap on a long metal chain. Small as it is, the stone sits comfortably in your palm. It is about 25 cm long including the chain and was made in India.
Known as the stone of love
Rose quartz is held to be the stone of love and tenderness, and esoteric writing links it to the heart chakra. It also makes a nice present, for example for a friend who collects crystals.
Its colour is a soft, slightly milky pink, stronger on some pieces and paler on others. That makes every pendulum a little different, and yours will not look exactly like the photo.
The pointed shape is there for a reason. Its tip draws the direction of the swing clearly, so even a small movement is easy to spot.
Small enough for a handbag
Thanks to its size, you can carry it in a soft pouch or a glasses case in your bag. Take it on a trip, or bring it out while sitting on a garden bench.
Before putting it away, wind the chain loosely around two fingers so it does not tangle. When you use it, hold the end of the chain and rest your elbow so your hand stays still.
A simple exercise helps you get to know it. Hold the pendulum a few centimetres above the open palm of your other hand and just watch for a few minutes which way it moves. Before any questions, this shows you how steady your hand is.
Keep it out of the sunny window
Weeks of bright sun can fade rose quartz. Store it in a drawer or a box rather than on a sunny windowsill, and wipe the cap and chain with a soft, dry cloth.
