Pisces Zodiac Trinket Dish and Incense Holder, Mango Wood, 10 cm

Two circling fish mark Pisces on this round 10 cm mango wood dish. Holds one incense stick, or your ring by the washbasin.

A round mango wood dish, 10 cm across and 2.5 cm high. The inner bowl has a glossy lacquer coat, and tiny gold dots run around its dark blue rim. In the white centre, two fish drawn in gold lines swim in a circle, each following the other's tail. A ring of constellations surrounds them. Between the two fish is a small hole for one incense stick. The wood grain differs from piece to piece, so your dish may look slightly different from the photo. Made in India; the package contains one dish.

The last sign of the zodiac

Pisces is the twelfth and last of the zodiac signs, running roughly from 19 February to 20 March. Old pictures show two fish swimming in opposite directions, tied together by a cord. Here there is no cord, and the two fish swim freely round the hole.

In astrological tradition, people born under Pisces are sensitive and caring, quick to notice when someone is having a bad day. Many of them like to paint, play music or write.

A safe spot by the washbasin

Before washing your hands, drop your ring in this dish so it cannot roll across the counter. A few coiled bead bracelets fit in it too. The wood is lacquered, so wipe off any splashes and do not soak it.

For incense, push the stick into the hole. Stay nearby while it burns, place the dish on a heat-proof surface and open a window afterwards. Incense sticks are sold separately.

For a late February or March birthday

When a Pisces friend or relative celebrates, this dish is a small present they will recognise as their own sign. If you know which incense scent they like, add a box.
