Shiny ruby-red foil picks out the artwork of this complete tarot deck, and the card backs are decorated too. Besides the deck, the set holds a printed guidebook and a storage box, all in pink gift packaging. Made in China.
How a tarot deck is built
The classic tarot has two parts. Its 22 major arcana cards show familiar figures and scenes such as the Fool, the Magician or the Star; the sequence opens with the Fool, numbered 0, and ends with card XXI, the World. The minor arcana is divided into four suits: wands, cups, swords and pentacles. This structure and the traditional meaning of each card are explained in the guidebook, so you have something to hold on to from your very first reading. Many readers also note whether a card comes up upright or upside down, and give that a meaning as well.
One card a day to begin with
A good way to start is to draw a single card each morning and look up its meaning in the guidebook. In the evening you can think back on what it meant for your day. If you write the card in a notebook, along with whatever came to mind, you can look back on it later. Within a few weeks you will know many of the cards without having to learn the whole deck in one sitting.
In a pink box, ready to give
The ruby foil catches the light when you turn a card towards it. As the deck arrives in pink gift packaging, you will not need a separate gift box if it is a present.
Keep the cards in their box so the foil does not wear.
