Pink Charlotte soap comes in shades of pink, orange and peach that blend softly into each other. You get one 1.3 kg loaf, 24 cm long, 8 cm wide and 6 cm high. The maker has already cut it into 13 slices of about 100 grams each, roughly 2 cm thick and the size of a bar of hand soap. It is handmade soap, made in the United Kingdom.
A peach and pink blend
The three colours shade gently into one another with no hard edges. If you like light, cheerful colours in the bathroom, this soap belongs there. It looks especially good on a white basin in spring and summer, next to a pink or peach towel. The maker gives no scent notes.
For the guest basin, or as a gift
One slice can go by the guest basin and one by the kitchen sink, and the rest can go in the cupboard. Wrap a slice in tissue paper and it makes a small gift, for a birthday or for your host when you go visiting.
Because the slices are much the same size, they line up neatly in a wicker basket by the basin. If you are putting together a spring or summer gift basket, a slice or two adds a splash of colour. It also looks good in a dish alongside the deep brown and red slices from the same series.
No knife needed
The maker has already sliced the loaf, so you don't have to cut it. Take the slices off one by one. Store them somewhere dry and airy, and keep the one in use on a slatted soap dish so it dries between washes.
