This bracelet is a row of natural rainbow agate beads, about 6 mm across, on an elastic cord. It is about 17 cm long and slips on easily without a clasp. You receive one bracelet, made in China.
Orange, yellow and pale green beads
Rainbow agate takes its name from its many colours. On this bracelet, orange, lemon yellow, peach, white and pale green beads alternate, with a few darker, reddish-brown ones. Most of the beads are translucent and almost glow in sunlight.
The mix and order of colours can vary from bracelet to bracelet, because every bead is a natural stone.
Agate's bands are laid down layer by layer inside a hollow in the rock, which is why every bead is patterned differently.
A stone with a long history
Agate is a banded form of chalcedony, a fine-grained quartz. The ancient Greeks knew it, and it is named after the Achates river in Sicily. Tradition regards it as a protective stone.
For light clothes and summer evenings
The warm colours go with a white linen dress, denim and pale T-shirts. If you love cheerful colours but don't want a large piece of jewellery, the 6 mm beads are just the right size.
The 17 cm bracelet sits comfortably on a wrist of 15–16 cm. If your wrist is thicker, the cord would be under strain, so choose a larger bracelet.
Don't wear it on the beach or in the shower, because water stretches the elastic sooner. Roll it over your hand when putting it on, so the cord keeps its stretch for longer. If it gets dusty, wipe it with a soft cloth.
