This petite bracelet is made of natural pink jasper. The beads, about 6 mm across, are strung on an elastic cord, and the bracelet is about 17 cm long. There is no clasp; you slip it on over your hand. You receive one bracelet, made in China.
Pink with grey markings
Jasper is an opaque stone. In this variety, grey and black spots and fine veins run across a pale, powdery pink. Some beads show hardly any markings, while others are almost entirely grey.
Jasper is made of fine-grained quartz with many other minerals mixed in, which is what makes it opaque and patterned.
Because this is a natural stone, the position of the spots and the shade of pink vary from bracelet to bracelet, so yours will not look exactly like the one in the photos.
The stone of perseverance
Jasper was worn as an amulet in ancient times, and seal stones were cut from it too. Tradition calls jasper the stone of perseverance.
If you like pale, powdery colours, this bracelet suits the office, the shops and a special occasion alike. It also looks good beside a fine chain bracelet, as the photos show.
If you have no tape measure, wrap a strip of paper round your wrist, mark it and measure it with a ruler. The 17 cm bracelet suits a wrist of roughly 15–16 cm.
Wearing and cleaning
Water stretches the elastic sooner, so take it off before showering or swimming. Water does not harm the stone. If it gets dusty, wipe it with a slightly damp cloth and let it dry.
When putting it on, don't stretch it hard; roll it over your hand. Keep it in a drawer or jewellery box, away from dust and strong sun.
