This bracelet is a row of natural moss agate beads, about 6 mm across, on an elastic cord. It is about 17 cm long with no clasp, so you slip it over your hand. You receive one bracelet, made in China.
Markings that look like moss
Moss agate is named after the green markings inside it, which look like moss or tiny plants. They are mineral deposits, not real plants.
On this bracelet, dark green, olive, brown and grey beads alternate, with a few translucent, whitish and amber-coloured ones. The mix can vary from bracelet to bracelet.
Unlike banded agates, moss agate has no bands; its markings are patchy and branching, like lichen or a tiny shrub.
The gardener's stone
Moss agate is said to be the stone of nature and growth. In the past, farmers and gardeners saw it as a bringer of luck, so it makes a thoughtful present for a friend who loves their garden.
Woodland colours on your wrist
The greens and browns are understated and go with denim, linen and walking clothes. If you like natural, earthy colours, this is the bracelet we would suggest.
Measure round your wrist with a tape measure or a strip of paper. The 17 cm bracelet sits comfortably on a wrist of 15–16 cm. In autumn it goes nicely with a brown knitted jumper.
Take it off before gardening or showering, because water and soil wear out the elastic sooner. Roll it over your hand when putting it on, without stretching it hard. If it gets dusty, wipe it with a soft cloth.
