Carnelian beads line this petite bracelet. The natural beads are about 6 mm across on an elastic cord, and the bracelet is about 17 cm long. It slips on without a clasp. You receive one bracelet, made in China.
Deep brick-red beads
Carnelian is the reddish, orange variety of chalcedony, coloured by the iron it contains. On this bracelet the beads are a deep brick red and reddish brown, with an even, warm tone. The exact shade can vary from bracelet to bracelet.
Carnelian is about as hard as quartz, so it resists scratches and copes with everyday wear. It can chip, though, if it knocks against something hard, such as a stone windowsill.
The seal-ring stone of the ancient world
Carnelian was already worn as jewellery in ancient Egypt, and the Romans carved it into seal rings. Carnelian necklaces and amulets have been found in Egyptian tombs. It is said to be the stone of drive and zest for life.
For autumn colours
The reddish brown goes well with brown, beige and dark green clothes, and it peeps out nicely from the sleeve of a knitted jumper. If you like warm colours, this is the stone we would suggest.
At about 17 cm, it suits a wrist of roughly 15–16 cm. If you wear several bracelets, the brick red goes well with tiger's eye and black obsidian.
The cord keeps its stretch longest if it stays dry, so remove the bracelet before showering or swimming. If it gets dusty, wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth, and don't stretch it hard when putting it on.
