Pendulum – fifth chakra, Vishuddha

Pendulum with a blue stone for practice linked with the fifth chakra, Vishuddha. Quiet meditation, self-reflection, fine inner attention for you.

The fifth chakra and the colour of the stone

You receive a pendulum whose weight is given by a stone in a blue tone. According to tradition the fifth chakra, called Vishuddha, is linked to the area of the throat and is regarded as a gentle companion of clear self-expression. The colour of the stone may range from a pale sky blue to a deeper blue tone, and each piece is unique.

The workmanship and the feel in your hand

The lower end of the stone is shaped to a point, which allows comfortable use as a pendulum. The chain is made of metal and at the top a small holding disc rests between your fingers. The weight and the chain length are tuned so that the hand naturally finds a calm hold.

How you use it in everyday life

You may take it into your hand in a quiet room while sitting and resting the elbow on a stable surface. At the beginning of a meditation or in a quiet morning moment let your hand grow still and allow the pendulum to begin its own movement. The use requires no hurry, and you may match your questions to your own inner stillness.

When it may be a particularly dear companion

Those who give attention to the themes of the throat chakra often work with the balance of speech and silence. Alongside a journal for self-reflection, before a chanting meditation or in the stillness after a more difficult conversation it may be a particularly dear companion. You may build it into your own practice as far as you wish.

Cleaning and storage

Wipe the stone and the metal part with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid direct contact with strong chemicals and fragrant oils, since they may reduce the shine of the surface. Store it in a small soft pouch or a lined box so that the chain lies loosely and the stone is not scratched.
