Szilaj F1 paprika spice pepper is a modern hybrid — mildly hot, early-ripening, with medium-strong growth. The fruit ripens from dark green to red, with high pigment and dry-matter content — meaning it's especially suitable for grinding into paprika powder, providing intense red colour and rich aroma.
Growing
Sowing time: February–March in seed trays. Transplanting: late May. Spacing: 50×40 cm. Prefers a warm, sunny spot. The F1 hybrid character delivers higher yield and better disease resistance.
Fruits ripen continuously in July–August. Uses: fresh pepper, or — when fully ripe and red — dried and ground into mild-hot paprika powder. The classic Hungarian paprika spice for stews, sausages and gulyás.
