This large pack contains around 3 kilograms of Palo Santo holy wood sticks from Peru, each piece about 10 cm long. We have chosen this size for people who have known Palo Santo for a long time, who use it almost daily, and who like to keep a long-term reserve at home, sometimes lasting for several years.
When this large size makes sense
This pack is primarily for those who light a stick every day, who share it with the household, or who would like to share the experience with relatives and friends. Stored in a cool, dry place, Palo Santo keeps its aroma for years, so one pack can quietly serve you for many months.
Natural hand-broken pieces
The sticks are broken by hand from sustainably collected, naturally fallen branches. Because of this they are not perfectly uniform – some are thicker, others thinner, some a little longer or shorter. This variety comes from the natural character of the wood, and many people feel it is exactly this that makes the experience kind and personal.
Where the wood comes from
Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) is native to the dry forests of Peru. The wood is gathered only from naturally fallen, already dry branches. The Peruvian National Forest Service (SERFOR) certifies that no living trees are cut for this purpose, so your choice does not put pressure on the forest.
Suggested use
Take a stick, hold it over a heat-resistant dish and light the tip. Let it burn with a flame for 20-30 seconds and then blow it out. The glowing stick gently releases its softly sweet, slightly citrus-woody aroma into the room. When you are done, place it on salt, sand or a heat-proof plate – the ember fades on its own and the leftover piece can be lit again next time.
Storage and safety notes
For a larger quantity it is best to keep the sticks in a closed box or glass jar, away from light and moisture. Cool, dry storage preserves the aroma. Never leave a glowing stick unattended, keep it out of reach of children and pets, and ventilate the room from time to time.
