Handmade incense sticks from the Marco Polo's Treasures line, in the spirit of palo santo – a sweet, woody, lightly citrus smoke for meditation, for tuning a space, or for a calm moment.
Palo Santo
Palo santo is the fragrant wood of the South American tree Bursera graveolens, called "holy wood"; tradition knows it as an incense for clearing a space and setting a mood. Palo santo smoke is sweet, woody and lightly citrus. The calming mood attached to it is a traditional idea, not a medical effect.
Craft and use
The sticks are hand-rolled to an Indian masala recipe and carry Ecocert certification; they are about 22.7 cm long.
Safety and use
Place the stick in a suitable holder on a heat-resistant, stable surface, light the end, then blow out the flame so the ember smoulders. Never leave it burning unattended; ventilate the room and keep it away from flammable objects and children.
