A pale mint green retractable lead with a white button and grey tape. The case measures 9 × 5.5 × 2.5 cm and weighs 101 g. Its polyester tape runs out to 1.5 m, and the box recommends it for dogs up to 25 kg. It comes in a small window box.
The morning round the block
When you just pop out with your dog in the morning, the Pocket Pod fits even in a dressing-gown pocket. In the evening it stays in your coat pocket, with no need for a bag. Slip the wrist strap over your hand, and it will not fall while you look for your keys.
For a harness or a collar
At the end of the tape is a zinc alloy clip with a swivel head that fits the ring of any harness or collar. If you use a harness, clip it to the back ring so any pull spreads across your dog's chest.
Mint green with a white button is a quiet colour that sits well with most harnesses. Of the P-AW retractable leads, the Pocket Pod is the lightest; the Mini Mango weighs 111 g and the Elephant 121 g. It also comes in pastel pink and in white.
Short tape, closer attention
1.5 m is comfortable in town and on the pavement, and your dog stays near you the whole time. In a park or field where your dog would run further, it may feel short; the 3 m Mini Mango lead suits that better. Before crossing a road, call your dog in and only step out once it is right beside you.
Check the tape now and then and stop using it once it is worn. Do not let your dog chew it, and children should only hold it with an adult nearby. If the case gets muddy, wipe it with a damp cloth.
