The Mini Mango's case is drop-shaped, like a small mango, which is where the name comes from. It is 10 cm long, 7 cm wide and 3 cm thick and weighs 111 g, so it sits comfortably in your palm, and it comes in a window box. Out of it runs a 3 m yellow tape ending in a swivel metal clip.
Three metres to sniff around
3 m is twice the tape of the pocket-sized Pocket Pod. In a park or along a field track your dog can go over to a bush or check a tuft of grass without stopping you at every step. If you keep walking straight on, the tape runs out and then winds back in. Hold the case on walks and leave the tape alone.
On a busy street, though, a long tape is no advantage. There, keep your dog by your side and watch out for cyclists. If another dog comes towards you, call yours in, as a long tape easily tangles with another lead.
Yellow and easy to spot
Bright yellow case, bright yellow tape: you can see them from a distance. If you put the lead down on a car seat or next to your coat after a walk, you will find it quickly. The Mini Mango also comes in purple and in peach, with the same shape and 3 m tape.
Wrist strap and clip
A short wrist strap hangs from the bottom of the case; slip it over your wrist. The metal clip has a swivel head and attaches to the back ring of a harness or to a collar.
After clipping on, give the clip a gentle tug to check it has closed. If the tape starts to fray or gets damaged, stop using it, and do not let your dog chew it. Wipe the case with a damp cloth when needed.
