P-AW Mini Flea Comb with Fine Metal Teeth

Palm-sized 6.5 cm comb with dense metal teeth and a wooden grip. For combing round the ears and face and checking the coat.

A small comb for dogs' and cats' fur. It is 6.5 cm wide, 5.5 cm high and 1 cm thick, and weighs about 20 g. Its fine metal teeth are set close together. The row of teeth is curved, so the comb follows the shape of the body better. The rounded grip is dark brown wood with the P-AW logo engraved in it. Made in China.

Close teeth for thorough combing

The teeth are so close together that loose hair, specks of dirt and, if there are any, fleas get caught between them. That is why it is called a flea comb. It does not kill fleas; it simply combs out whatever gets caught in its teeth.

Even in a short coat, small bits catch between the teeth, so it works well on short-haired cats and dogs too.

Round the ears and on the face

Being small, it reaches places a big brush can't. Comb slowly with short strokes round the ears and on the face, and take care that the teeth don't touch the eyes.

You can also comb behind the legs and under the front legs with it. Don't force it through a long, matted coat, though, as the close teeth will snag in the knots. Work the knots out with a slicker brush first, then follow with the fine comb.

It is small enough for a coat pocket, so you can give your pet a comb-through after a walk, in the garden or on a park bench.

If a flea gets caught in the teeth

After combing, wipe the teeth on a white paper towel so you can see clearly what they caught. If the comb shows you fleas, ask your vet for advice on treatment.

After washing, dry the metal teeth, and don't soak the wooden grip.
