A lavender purple harness with sand-coloured straps and a padded grey lining. Size XS, it is made for dogs of 2–4 kg. The fabric is 100% polyester; the harness weighs 86 g and is made in China.
A purple stone in the paw
The charm is a silver-coloured metal paw with a round purple amethyst at its centre. Because amethyst is a natural stone, the colour varies a little from piece to piece, and some have paler veins. It hangs on a small ring next to the lead ring on the back, and you can take it off or move it to a collar at any time.
The name amethyst comes from Greek and means “not drunk”. Tradition regards it as the stone of calm and sobriety.
Weigh your dog first
The right size depends on your dog's weight. If you are not sure of it, step on the bathroom scales holding your dog, then without, and the difference is your dog's weight. Over 4 kg, choose size S instead.
You can tighten or loosen the straps at the neck and on both sides. Two fingers should fit under a strap; any looser and your dog may slip out.
For walks after dark
It goes on over your dog's head and closes with a buckle on each side. Clip the lead to the metal ring on the back, so any pull spreads across the chest and shoulders instead of pressing on the neck.
Reflective trim runs along the edges. In winter it is dark by five in the afternoon, and the trim catches the light of street lamps and car headlights.
