P-AW Coffee Wood Dog Chew Toy – Knots

Braided rope dog toy with two barrel-shaped coffee wood pieces, chunky knots and frayed ends. For tugging and carrying.

An elongated dog toy with two barrel-shaped pieces of coffee wood threaded onto a braided rope of cream and brown strands. Chunky knots separate and frame the wooden pieces, so they stay in place. Both ends of the rope are frayed. You get one toy, made in China.

Two barrels on a rope

The two wooden pieces give your dog two hard places to chew on one toy. The knots around them are softer, so its teeth find wood one moment and rope the next. Coffee wood is the wood of the coffee plant, and the two barrels differ slightly in grain and shade. The cream and brown strands are braided together, so the rope is striped and the two colours alternate on the knots as well.

For tugging and carrying

Thanks to the long shape, you can hold one end while your dog holds the other. The frayed ends and the knots give a good grip. If your dog prefers to carry things, it can take the toy by the middle to its favourite spot.

While tugging, keep the toy at the height of your dog's mouth; do not lift it high or jerk it sideways.

When the fringe gets longer

The frayed ends unravel with use. If the strands hang long or a knot starts to loosen, it is time for a new toy. Tooth marks on the coffee wood are fine, but cracks and splinters are not, so replace it then as well. Always stay close while your dog chews, and pick up any loose strands. If a strand unravels very long, you can trim it back with scissors, but leave the knots alone.

Putting it away after play keeps the rope in better shape, and your dog is all the happier when it comes out again.
