A dog toy made of a straight coffee wood rod and a large rope loop. The braided cream and brown rope passes through both ends of the wood and curves round, so the toy looks like a horseshoe. Chunky knots and tassels finish the ends. It is 22 cm long and 10 cm wide and weighs 120 g. You get one toy, made in China.
A rope loop to hold on to
The big loop gives you a comfortable grip. For a game of tug, you hold the curve of the rope while your dog grabs the wooden rod or the knots. Do not wrap the loop round your wrist, so that you can simply let go if your dog gives a sudden pull.
Thanks to the loop you can also hang the toy on a hook or a coat peg, so it is not lying on the floor when nobody is playing with it. In the garden you can hold it by the loop to throw it, and your dog brings it back by the rod.
Straight rod, curved rope
The rod is hard, while the rope curve is softer and bends, so your dog finds two kinds of grip. Coffee wood is the hard wood of the coffee plant, and the grain of the rod is clearly visible. At 120 g the toy is light, so your dog can carry it about with ease.
If your dog likes to walk around with toys in its mouth, it will carry a light piece like this for a long time. Hung on a hook, the toy also dries faster after a slobbery game than it would on the floor.
Tassels and knots
Tassels and knots loosen with use. Check the wood from time to time as well. Tooth marks are fine, cracks and splinters are not. If you see one, take the toy away and give your dog a new one. Stay close while it chews, and pick up any loose tassel threads.
