A bone-shaped dog toy of thick, cream braided rope with a piece of coffee wood in the middle. The rope is knotted at both ends, and these knots give it the familiar bone outline. Against the pale rope, the warm brown wood stands out, and the braiding and the wood grain show plenty of small detail. Overall it is 22 cm long and 10 cm wide and weighs 216 g. You get one toy, made in China.
A bone shape made of rope
The knotted ends are thicker and the middle is narrower, just like a drawn bone. Your dog can easily pick it up by the wooden middle and carry it about. If your dog likes to parade its treasures through the house, this shape suits it.
There is plenty to grab for a game of tug as well. You hold one knot, your dog takes the other, and the wood stays between you.
Tooth marks or splinters
Coffee wood is the hard wood of the coffee plant. Over time, chewing leaves tooth marks and small worn patches on it, which is normal. If it cracks or a sharp splinter comes away, take the toy from your dog and give it a new one.
Pale rope shows wear early
On the cream braid you will soon notice if it starts to come apart, as loose strands stand out against the pale rope. That is also the time to replace it. Give a chew toy when you are nearby, and put it away after play.
If the rope gets wet during play or out in the rain, lay it somewhere dry and airy, and give it back only once it has dried. A thick braid takes longer to dry than a thin rope.
