A beige ceramic bowl in a raised wooden stand. The bowl is 14 cm across and sits in the top of the frame. The stand has a 19 × 19 cm base and is 10 cm high, standing on its two sides and open at the front and back. Together they weigh about 800 g. Made in China.
The weight of ceramic
Ceramic is heavier than steel, so the bowl sits firmly in the frame and is harder for your dog to push around. Its smooth surface is easy to clean, and a sponge soon wipes away leftover food.
The bowl's wide rim rests on top of the frame, so it can't slip through the opening and lifts out in one go. It is deep and rounded, good for wet food and for water.
One thing to bear in mind is that ceramic is breakable. If it falls on a stone floor it can crack or break, so hold it with both hands when washing up.
If you're choosing between ceramic and steel, the difference is this: ceramic is heavier and so stands steadier, while steel is lighter and won't break if dropped.
Natural wood and beige ceramic
The two materials make a quiet pair. They don't clash with your furniture, so the bowl can stay out where you might hide a bright plastic one.
The 10 cm stand lifts the bowl off the floor, so your dog doesn't have to bend as far. We recommend it for small and medium dogs, for food or water.
The stand rests on its two side panels and is open front and back, so it's easy to wipe the floor underneath. At about 800 g it is easy to move with one hand, yet it stays in place while your dog eats.
Caring for the wooden stand
Wipe the wood with a damp cloth and don't soak it. If your dog splashes water onto the frame while drinking, dry it off, as wood soaks up moisture.
