A balm for those who like to take soil into their hands
The garden variant of Owl Balm BIO was created by the French workshop for readers who are outside in the garden from spring to autumn: pulling weeds, planting seedlings, chopping wood, pruning roses, picking fruit. After such work, the hands tend to be drier, the skin around the nails may chap, and the knees and elbows feel more strained from bending, pinching and contact with branches and bushes. We apply this balm to the skin after we have washed with warm, soapy water.
What the garden variant offers you
The organic beeswax, sunflower oil and shea butter base is enriched with lavender and tea tree essential oils. Tea tree is traditionally a supporter of clean, well-cared skin, while lavender is a calming evening scent. You will only need a small amount each day and 5-10 minutes of post-wash massage. The balm can also be applied to hands, forearms, knees and elbows.
How to use it at the end of a gardening day
First wash your hands and arms with lukewarm, soapy water to remove soil and dust. Pat dry. Take a hazelnut-sized portion of balm and massage it into your palms, the backs of your hands, around the nail beds and onto your forearms. If you knelt much during the day, also apply to the knees and the back of the knees. The balm absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy mark, so you can reach for your book or phone afterwards.
Who it is mainly made for
Hobby gardeners, balcony gardeners, owners of home gardens; orchard keepers; people in rural homes doing frequent outdoor work; older people for whom gardening is a weekend joy but whose skin is no longer as elastic as it was. Thanks to the tea tree content, the balm also suits those who like lightly spicy, fresh scents.
How to store it
Keep it in a cool place protected from light, preferably in the bathroom cabinet or in the kitchen next to the sink so it is at hand quickly after work. Unopened, until the printed date; once opened, use within 6-12 months. If some remains at the end of the gardening season, on a cool shelf it can last until next spring.
