A quickly available balm after minor bumps and bruises
The bumps and bruises variant of Owl Balm BIO was created for those everyday moments when you accidentally bump into furniture, a child falls on the playground, or your hand slips off a branch during gardening. The organic beeswax, sunflower oil and shea butter base is enriched with arnica and calendula plant extracts — both have been favourites of traditional skin care around grazed and bumped skin for centuries.
When it is worth reaching for it
If you suffer a minor knock and your skin starts to change colour or swell, take the balm out at least 24-48 hours later — once the fresh swelling has eased. Place a small amount AROUND the affected area (not directly on the painful spot, and certainly not on an open wound or graze where blood is visible). Massage it gently with circular motions on the surrounding healthy skin — that way the plant extracts can help care for the skin.
What the balm cannot do
This balm is NOT a medicine, not a painkiller, and does not replace wound care. Do not apply it to a fresh bleeding wound, a deep cut or an open graze. In case of severe bruising (large swelling, persistent pain, restricted movement), or a head impact with dizziness or nausea, seek medical help at once. The balm is meant for skin care after minor everyday knocks — a bumped knee, elbow or forearm.
Who this arnica-calendula variant is for
Active families with children, who appreciate a skin-caring balm after small playground falls (suitable for children over three, with parental supervision); athletes after minor knocks in training; garden owners who often pick up small marks from branches and bushes. Older people whose skin is more sensitive and where minor bump marks remain visible longer.
How to store it so the extracts stay active
Keep it in a cool, dark place — plant extracts can weaken from light and warmth. The shelf of a home medicine cabinet or the inside of a bathroom cabinet is suitable. Unopened, until the date printed; once opened, use within 6-12 months.
