A cooling balm for after summer evenings
The bite soother variant of Owl Balm BIO was made for those meeting mosquitoes, horseflies, ants or nettle during spring and summer evenings. The balm has the same French organic beeswax, sunflower oil and shea butter base as the other family members, but here peppermint, eucalyptus and mint essential oils are blended in. Applied to the skin, it gives a characteristic cooling sensation, and you will like how the itching subsides after a few minutes.
What to do when you notice a bite after gardening or a hike
Clean the skin with mild water, pat it dry, then take a small amount of balm onto your fingertip. Gently massage it into the bite area with circular motions — do not rub hard, as that can make itching worse. The cooling sensation of peppermint essential oil appears within seconds. You can reapply it several times a day, even every 4-5 hours as needed.
Where not to use it
Do not apply the balm to an open wound, fresh cut or skin during wound healing. In case of a bee or wasp sting with strong swelling or breathing difficulty, seek medical help at once. The balm is intended as support for smaller mosquito bites, ant bites, nettle itching and mild horsefly marks; it does not replace medical care in allergic reactions. It is not recommended for children under three due to the peppermint content.
Who this bite soother is for
For garden owners, hikers, campers and families who spend much time outdoors in summer. If, sitting on the sofa in the evening, you notice a bite itching on your ankle or arm, the touch of this balm gives a noticeably better feeling within minutes. The 30 ml jar is plenty for an average family through one summer.
How to store it
Store in a cool place, protected from direct sunlight. You can take the jar with you in your summer backpack, but if you leave it for long in a car where the temperature can rise above 30 degrees, the balm may soften. Once returned to a cool place, it firms up again and can be used further.
