Sound and character
The special feature of this 10-tone outdoor xylophone is that the bars are distributed across three separate stands. The suspension delivers clear, long-sustaining, fine yet powerful sound, and the bars keep ringing even when someone walks across them. The pentatonic tuning means every strike connects harmoniously — there are no wrong notes.
How to use
The three stands can be sunk into the ground so the players stand with their backs to each other: they hear, but cannot see one another. This invites interactive, attentive play — you respond to the other's melody. We recommend it for clinics, parks, gardens and playgrounds, for group sessions, communication exercises and music therapy groups.
Why this product
Choose it when you want a shared musical experience built on listening and attention. The three-stand layout creates very different group dynamics: players can focus only on sound, allowing deeper connection. The peeled, sapwood-free robinia withstands weather for decades, and German craftsmanship ensures lasting quality.
Care tips
- Experiment with the placement — back-to-back, in a circle or scattered
- Try it as dialogue: one player offers a motif, the other replies
- Strike the bars in the centre and at the edge
- Annually check ropes and suspension
- Make sure no hands or feet get caught between the bars
