Sound and character
The outdoor dance string is a single thick wire rope stretched over a 3-metre hollow log. It does not sound by itself — a second player strikes it with mallets. Pressing the string down with the foot shortens it and changes the pitch. As one person moves their feet along the string and the other strikes it in rhythm, a melody emerges from their cooperation.
How to use
An outdoor musical instrument designed for interactive partner play. One person steps on the string and "dances" the melody while the other strikes it. You can mark the spots where each note sounds, so whole songs can be rehearsed. We recommend it for gardens, parks, sensory playgrounds, community spaces and therapy gardens. Also suitable for team building, music therapy and children's programmes.

About Feeltone
Feeltone is a craft instrument workshop in Lassan, northern Germany, founded by Ingo Böhme. For more than two decades they have built monochords, sound beds, sound chairs and ceremonial drums for therapists, sound artists and meditation practitioners.
