This graceful Oriental candle holder — also known as a diya — is made to hold tea lights and ghee candles. The diya is a traditional vessel for the celebration of light in Eastern cultures.
The OM symbol
OM (AUM) is the ancient, sacred syllable of the Hindu and Buddhist traditions, regarded as a symbol of the universal sound and of beginnings. It often opens mantras and is a classic aid to deepening meditation. On the holder, the sign lends a quiet, contemplative mood to the light.
The tradition of light
In many cultures, lighting a candle is a quiet, symbolic gesture — a moment of gratitude, serenity and intention. The diya has accompanied such occasions for centuries, on a home altar, at a festival, or simply in a calm evening moment.
Material & make
Made of metal, OM motívummal; about 12 × 4 cm. Place a tea light or a little ghee inside, and the small flame draws a warm circle of light around the holder.
Use it on a stable, heat-resistant surface, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
