There are four essential oils in this grapeseed-based massage and bath oil: orange, grapefruit, geranium and clary sage. The 300 ml amber bottle is 18 cm tall and 6 cm across, with a pump. Made in England.
Citrus first, then sage
First you notice the sweet orange and the slightly bitter grapefruit. These fade quickly, leaving the rosy note of geranium and the herbal note of clary sage. The orange and grapefruit oils are pressed from the peel of the fruit. Clary sage is a larger-leaved, lilac-flowered relative of kitchen sage. In German it is called muscatel sage, because winemakers once added it to wine to give it a muscatel flavour.
For a morning massage too
If you like fresher scents, you can use this blend in the morning after a shower. Pump one measure into your palm, warm it and smooth it onto your arms and legs. Grapeseed oil spreads easily, so a little goes a long way. For a bath, pump a few measures into the filled tub and swirl it in. Store the bottle somewhere cool and out of sunlight.
Sunlight and citrus oil
Because it contains grapefruit oil, avoid strong sun and sunbeds for the next few hours after applying it. Before the first use, try it on a small patch of skin and wait a day. The oil makes the bottom of the bath slippery, so get out carefully. Keep it away from your eyes, and wipe the pump after use so the bottle does not get oily.
