An opalescent opalite, whose milky, bluish glow is almost angelically soft.
What opalite is
Opalite is not a natural mineral but a glass-based, man-made material that imitates the opalescent play of opal. Its characteristic bluish or faintly yellowish glow comes from the way it refracts light. The polished pieces have a smooth, translucent surface, pleasant to hold. Being made of glass, it has an even, clear appearance.
In tradition
Many know opalite as a stone of lightness and calm; tradition links it with an uplifted, freed-up mood – as if it gave space and air. Its soft, angelic look makes it a favourite for quiet moments and calm interiors.
A natural product – each piece is unique
Tumbled (polished, rounded) stones are made from natural mineral, so the size, shade and pattern vary from piece to piece and may differ from the photo. A typical stone is about 1.5–3.5 cm, with a smooth surface that sits easily in the hand.
Use and care
Many hold it in the palm during meditation or quiet reflection; others keep it in a favourite corner, on the desk or in a bag. The polished stone can be cleaned gently with a soft, dry cloth.
The meanings and properties described rest on tradition and on the experiences of those who work with stones; they are not scientific facts and do not replace medical advice.
