The Love necklace is made of pale pink faceted beads, with a finely detailed, silver-coloured butterfly pendant at the centre. Larger, irregular decorative pieces and tiny silver-coloured spacer beads sit between them. It is about 42 cm long, weighs about 9 g and was made in China.
The story of Cupid and Psyche
Apuleius tells the story of Cupid and Psyche in his novel The Golden Ass. Psyche, a mortal girl, breaks the one rule she was given and looks at her sleeping husband by lamplight, and so loses him. After long trials the gods make her immortal and she is reunited with Cupid. Later artists often painted Psyche with butterfly wings, which is why a butterfly suits a necklace called Love.
For an anniversary or name day
Pale pink is gentle without being loud, and it still shows on a grey or navy dress. If you are looking for a present for an anniversary, a name day or Mother's Day, this necklace works with a simple outfit as well as a dressier one. When you are not sure which colours someone likes, pale pink is rarely a wrong guess.
Carrying the colours of rose quartz and ruby, the Love bracelet set comes from the same Nymph line. Give both, and you are giving a pair that belongs together.
Caring for the pink beads
Shade and shape may vary slightly from bead to bead. Take the necklace off before swimming or bathing, and wipe it with a soft, dry cloth if needed. As a gift, it fits easily in a small pouch or box.
